Greetings from a serene Lionara

Hello Myrra,

my silent and invisible love. Greetings from a serene Lionara, a city where everyone insists on kissing both cheeks as a custom both of greeting and passing by. It has been seven days since my arrival, and every day is same or similar to the one before. One day I will take you here, to wander quietly without the troubles that seem to follow us wherever else we float our feet. Your absence stretches out these days making each next one a copy of the previous, a sentiment both reinforced and strangely soothed here in this calm city of ancient arts.

Only yesterday I met a man of marble in this city’s very heart. A truly ancient statue I circled for hours, wondering about its creation, its travels across stars and time. A presence reflecting a shimmer of light from a sun giving warmth to stone and feelings embedded within. What artist would create such beauty, yet provide its captured state of being with a weapon so ancient of origins most would not recognise it as such. You would though, growing up we both employed something similar during those dreadful days together alone seeking shelter in the forests of our youth.

I know, I should not dwell like this on our time apart. Accept that I miss you, deploring this inability to share thoughts or touch until we meet again. My work here has been neither tedious nor time consuming, almost a shame as being here makes your absence harder yet somehow it shelters that pain with a velvet blanket quieting my mind. Though not my bursting heart.

It seems silly at times, sending you these messages. I know there are no timely guarantees on these musings dispatched from star to star. I send them gladly though, I trust you can forgive this tortured soul.

I have managed to book transport on the next Courier vessel, a decision giving me an extra morning here to strengthen myself for the next part of this  journey. I cannot explain how the quiet here accomplishes that. Knowing me, I’m sure this will make you wonder even more. As I said, one day I will take you here and share this serenity of soul that fills the very air. Tomorrow I move on, another step further away, on my way back to you.

Until the next time we meet my dearest love , if not in receipt of these messages then in person eye to eye,
