Writing. Culture. Politics. Wandering.
Welcome to my personal blog, it is here that I collect and share musings on a number of things. My own thoughts and writing, as well as those of others and their works.
I’m Mack. It’s a short name, it doesn’t say a lot but that is fine. I’m story teller at heart, and while I am what you could call a private person I enjoy sharing with others. Ideas, experiences, considerations. The pen is a friend, but I much prefer to first listen, and then speak.
I’ve been around, can’t deny that. Only recently settling down somewhat it has brought me experiences and exposed me to beauty all around the world. But not without paying a price. Our world is one of wonders, of connections, experiences and those simple things that build bridges between us all. Unfortunately, it is not a world without its share of pain.
I once began my travels at a university once upon a time a long ago, embracing Sociology and Communication Studies, moving on a university and a country elsewhere to face Economics and Philosophy. Sometimes these trades, if you will, find their way in placing a mark on my writing. Not always though.
Travelling has always been a privilege, in spite of the work itself often being tedious and with less humanity than required. Experiences and memories I will always carry with me, from Cape to Cairo, Suva to Perth, And so forth.
Bonne chance, et amusez-vous!
